Greetings!

Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend; wasn't the weather nice on Monday?  We have eleven days of school left--Wherever has the time gone?  Well, the best way to make it go quickly is to stay busy, so here are this week's plans--

MONDAY--NO SCHOOL--MEMORIAL DAY

TUESDAY--Students will be adding vocabulary terms to their Science Notebooks and will be working on some worksheets--"Road Races" and "Who Got There First?".  These are HOMEWORK and are DUE WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY--LATE START DAY--Students will work on worksheets called "Time Travel". They are HOMEWORK DUE THURSDAY.

THURSDAY--Students will work on a lab called "Speeding Down Slopes".  The worksheet will be DUE FRIDAY.  They will have time to work on it in class, but if they do not get it done, it is HOMEWORK.

FRIDAY--Students will watch a video on Speed and will fill out a worksheet to go with it.  This will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD, so NO HOMEWORK OVER THE WEEKEND.

Please note that Wednesday is a LATE START DAY, so if you haven't already done so, please make the appropriate plans.

And, this is a "biggie", the LAST DAY FOR LATE WORK, MISSING ASSIGNMENTS, AND EXTRA CREDIT is FRIDAY, JUNE 3rd.  Please discuss this with your student, especially if you see missing work in this progress report.

As always, if you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns, please contact me.  The best email address is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us and the phone number in my classroom is (360) 264-3644.

Have a wonderful week,

Academy Plans for May 23rd through 27th, 2016

Greetings!

Hooray!!!  Our Honor Society students were honored for their hard work with a field trip to Seattle to visit the EMP--they really deserve it.  I hope they have a wonderful time.

Also hope you had a super Saturday & Sunday, but I do hope the weather's better for next weekend's three-day holiday.  And now here are this week's plans--

MONDAY--Students will brush up on their cursive writing with their penmanship packets.  This is HOMEWORK DUE WEDNESDAY.

TUESDAY--Students will work on the first page of their Biography Project.  This is HOMEWORK DUE WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY--Students will work on the body of their Biography Projects.  Although this is HOMEWORK, it's a big project, so it won't be due until next week--probably NEXT THURSDAY.

FRIDAY--Students work with Ms. Benek on the "life skills" unit, so NO HOMEWORK over the Memorial Day Weekend.

Please take a good close look at any missing assignments your student may have.  I fear he/she may be "going on vacation" about three weeks too soon.  Please discuss this with your child.  If he/she is planning on participating in sports next fall, one "F" on a report card equals TWO WEEKS OF  ELIGIBILITY and two or more "F's" equals THREE WEEKS OF ELIGIBILITY.  That means missing out on at least one game.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, and/or concerns you may have.  The best email address to reach me at is:  humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us and the phone number in my classroom is:  (360) 264-3644.

Academy Plans for May 9th through 13th, 2016

Greetings!

Hope you had a great weekend and that all "Moms" were appropriately pampered.  Just being a parent or guardian of a middle school student is a full-time job.  Isn't it amazing to think this year is already 5/6th over?  But just like someone running track, it is time for your student to go into his/her "kick" and pour it on.  It's not a time to relax; it's time to give it all you've got.  Now on to this week's plans:

MONDAY--Students will be writing the rough draft for Trait #3 on their biography project.  This is HOMEWORK DUE TUESDAY.

TUESDAY--Students will peer edit the rough draft of Trait #3 for their biography project.  Hence, NO HOMEWORK.

WEDNESDAY--Students will write the rough draft of the introduction and conclusion for their biography project.  This is HOMEWORK DUE THURSDAY.

THURSDAY--Students will peer edit the rough drafts of their introductions and conclusions for their biography projects, so NO HOMEWORK.

FRIDAY--Ms. Benek will come in for the "Life Skills" lesson, so NO HOMEWORK.

This is our second SBAC TEST WEEK, so again, please be sure your student is well rested and has had breakfast Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  This week students will be tested in Math.  Make-up test days are Wednesday & Friday--and NO "Late Start" this week.

Please contact me with whatever questions, comments, and/or concerns you may have.  The best email address to reach me at is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us and the phone number in my classroom is (360) 264-3644.
