6th Grade Science Plans for November 23rd through 27th, 2015

Greetings!

Well, this will be a short week, but we will be busy.  I'm sure you are aware that Wednesday is an "Early Release" Day, and that there is no school on Thursday or Friday, but here is what we will be doing for the rest of the week:

MONDAY--Students will work on writing the conclusion to our "Mentos & Diet Coke" lab. This will be DUE TUESDAY.

TUESDAY--Students will be adding notes to their Science Notebooks, so NO HOMEWORK.

WEDNESDAY--EARLY RELEASE DAY--Students will be going to an atom website on the computers and playing a game, so NO HOMEWORK.

THURSDAY & FRIDAY--NO SCHOOL

Just as a little "heads up"--my planning time is second period, which is approximately 9:15 to 10:00 a.m.  This means if I receive an email or phone call after that time, I will probably not be able to act upon it, as I am teaching for the rest of the day.  I only bring this up because recently I have received requests for work after 2nd period.  I did not want you to think I was ignoring you, it's simply that I do not have any time to get work together until after school, and by then it is usually too late.

Also, as the term is rolling to a close (Friday, December 4th is the last day of the trimester, and it is also an EARLY RELEASE DAY) I wanted you to know that the LAST DAY FOR MISSING WORK AND EXTRA CREDIT IS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH.

As always, if you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns, please call me at (360) 264-3644 or email me at humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us

Have a great Thanksgiving weekend,
Michele Humble

7th Grade Science Plans for November 16th through 20th, 2015

Greetings!

What a rainy weekend!  Well, at least we had a bit of sunshine on Sunday.

I thought the students had a grip on the Metric System, but as you can see by the test scores, that was not the case, so we will back up and take another run at it.  Here are our plans for this week:

MONDAY & TUESDAY--Students will work on Metric worksheets all period in class.  These will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD, so NO HOMEWORK.  Since students will RETAKE THE METRIC SYSTEM TEST ON WEDNESDAY, please assist your student with STUDYING FOR THE TEST.

FRIDAY--Students will do the second activity in Investigation #2, so NO HOMEWORK.

Just a reminder:  Wednesday is a late start day, so hopefully you have already made plans for that.

It looks like the rollout date for the Chromebooks is now Monday, December 1st, but as always, that is tentative.  If you haven't attended a parent/guardian training so your student may take his/her Chromebook home, there are still two more upcoming.  Hopefully, you have received an email about the precise dates already.  If not, you can always call the Office at (360) 264-3600.

Please contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have.  The best email address to reach me at is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us and the phone number in my classroom is (360) 264-3644.

Have a wonderful week,
