Academy Plans for January 9th through 13th, 2017

Greetings!

Brr!!!  It's been chilly lately.  And the forecast is for more cold weather, so please pay attention to those phone calls, text messages, and radio announcements.  Now here's what we're doing this week:

MONDAY--Students will be participating in our weekly "Life Skills" lesson, so NO HOMEWORK.

TUESDAY--Students will self evaluate their "Career Slide show".  This will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD, so NO HOMEWORK.

WEDNESDAY--LATE START DAY--Students will read silently, so there will be NO HOMEWORK.

THURSDAY & FRIDAY--Students will begin their "Biography Project".  This will require each student to select a biography and read it.  There will be ten class periods dedicated for this purpose.  IF THE STUDENT DOES NOT COMPLETE THE READING OF THE BIOGRAPHY IN CLASS, HE/SHE WILL BE EXPECTED TO GET THIS DONE OUTSIDE OF CLASS TIME.  The written part of this project will BEGIN FEBRUARY 1st.  Please MONITOR YOUR STUDENT'S PROGRESS DAILY.

I'm sure you are aware of the fact that Wednesday is a LATE START DAY, and Monday, January 16th is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, so there is NO SCHOOL.

If you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns, please contact me.  The best email address is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us and the phone number in my classroom is (360) 264-3644.

Have a wonderful week,
Michele Humble
