7th Grade Science Plans for January 30th through February 3rd, 2017

Greetings!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Here is what we will be doing this week:

MONDAY--Students will be completing their "Rock Cycle Comic Strip.  This is HOMEWORK DUE TUESDAY.

TUESDAY--Students will be introduced to the new unit:  "matter and Its Interactions.  NO HOMEWORK.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY--Students will rotate to four labs.  NO HOMEWORK.

FRIDAY--Students will be begin working on packets for the labs, so NO HOMEWORK.

You will shortly be receiving your student's "Third Term" grades; this means what he/she has earned through the first half of the second trimester.  If the marks are not up to the expectations  you may have for your child, perhaps it's time for a serious talk with him/her.  I have observed that the main reason for low grades are missing assignments, so you may want to start there.  If low test scores seem to be the problem, most of your student's teachers will allow him/her to retake a test, so you might want to explore that possibility.  Finally, I've noticed students who have missed school days don't always take the initiative of making up missing work, so you might want to take a look at that aspect.  Hope some of these tips help bring up your child's grades.

Please contact me with any questions, comments, and/or concerns you may have.  The phone number in my classroom is (360) 264-3644 and the best email address to reach me is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us

Have a wonderful week,
Michele Humble
