Academy Plans for January 30th through February 3rd, 2017

Greetings!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Here is what we will be doing this week:

MONDAY--This week's "Life Skills" lesson will deal with dealing with anger.  NO HOMEWORK.

TUESDAY--Last day for your student to finish reading his/her biography, so that is DUE WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY--Students will be introduced to the biography project.  NO HOMEWORK.

THURSDAY--Students will begin writing the first page of their biography project.  This is HOMEWORK DUE FRIDAY.

FRIDAY--Students will be working on their "Death Mask" for Social Studies, so NO HOMEWORK.

You will shortly be receiving your student's "Third Term" grades; this means what he/she has earned through the first half of the second trimester.  If the marks are not up to the expectations  you may have for your child, perhaps it's time for a serious talk with him/her.  I have observed that the main reason for low grades are missing assignments, so you may want to start there.  If low test scores seem to be the problem, most of your student's teachers will allow him/her to retake a test, so you might want to explore that possibility.  Finally, I've noticed students who have missed school days don't always take the initiative of making up missing work, so you might want to take a look at that aspect.  Hope some of these tips help bring up your child's grades.

Please contact me with any questions, comments, and/or concerns you may have.  The phone number in my classroom is (360) 264-3644 and the best email address to reach me is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us

Have a wonderful week,
Michele Humble
