6th Grade Science Plans for January 26th through 30th, 2015

Greetings!

Well, the first semester is nearly at an end, so this will be a busy week.  The grade you see on this progress report is not necessarily "what you see is what you get" because we have some things that will be turned in this week, but it's pretty darned close.  So here are the plans for the week:

MONDAY--Students will finish the Chalk Lab, then begin working on the comprehension questions for two "Science Stories"--"What a Reaction!" and "What is Matter Made Of?".  They will have time to work on this in class, so it is NOT HOMEWORK.

TUESDAY--Students will do worksheets on two more "Science Stories"--"Ask a Chemist" and "The Periodic Table".  Students will have work time in class and should be able to complete all four of these.  However, if they do not, this is HOMEWORK DUE ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY--Students will add vocabulary words to their Science Notebooks, go over Cornell Notes, and will correct Tuesday's homework in class, so NO HOMEWORK.

THURSDAY--Science Notebooks will be turned in.  THESE ARE WORTH 100 POINTS.  Next we will have our end of the quarter auction and will elect our new treasurer, so NO HOMEWORK.

FRIDAY--NO SCHOOL--INSERVICE DAY FOR TEACHERS

Aside from no school on Friday, the only other announcement I can think of is that I will be gone on Tuesday for Science training in Tumwater, but the students know this substitute teacher well, so there should be no problems.

As always, please contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.  The phone number in the classroom is (360) 264-3644 and the best email to contact me is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us

Have a wonderful week & Go Hawks!
Michele Humble
