6th Grade Science Plans for November 28th through December 2nd, 2016

Greetings!

Hope you had a terrific "Turkey Day" and great weekend break.  We have arrived at the end of the first trimester!  Time flies, especially in middle school.  Here is what we will be doing this week:

MONDAY--Students will get back and we will go over some assignments from last week.  We will also go over the Science Notebook scoring rubric.  Finally, students will be doing a "Grade Check" on Skyward which will be due at the end of the period, so NO HOMEWORK.

TUESDAY--Students will be working in lab groups to devise an experiment proving air has mass.  This will be DUE THURSDAY.

WEDNESDAY--Students will research online to find the difference between weight and mass.  This will also be DUE THURSDAY.

THURSDAY--Students will do a "Quick Write" on what they think weather is and will present their experiments from Tuesday and their findings from Wednesday, so NO HOMEWORK.

FRIDAY--EARLY RELEASE--Students will participate in the "End of the Term Auction", so NO HOMEWORK.

Just a reminder, as you can see above, FRIDAY IS AN EARLY RELEASE DAY.  Students will be released from school at 11:40 a.m., so please plan accordingly.

Remember that: ALL MISSING ASSIGNMENTS AND EXTRA CREDIT IS DUE ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH.  Any work turned in after that deadline will not be accepted.  Also, SCIENCE NOTEBOOKS ARE DUE THE SAME DAY.  These are worth 100 points, which would change your student's grade drastically; please be sure these are turned in.

Please contact me with any questions, comments, and/or concerns.  The phone number in my classroom is (360) 264-3644 and the best email address to reach me at is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us

Have a wonderful week,
Michele Humble
