6th Grade Science Plans for April 18th through 22nd, 2016

Greetings!

Oh my goodness!  What a beautiful weekend it was, and Monday & Tuesday promise to be just as nice.  Spring Fever anyone?  Oh well, we shall plunge on, so here's what' happening this week:

MONDAY--Your student will make his/her "Final" drawing for the Microscope Unit.  This will take up the entire period and will be worth 100 points.  It will be due at the end of the period.  The homework for this calls is to STUDY FOR WEDNESDAY'S WRITTEN TEST.  (Your student has received back from me all 10 of the Microscope Lesson worksheets.  These are what he/she should bring home to study.)

TUESDAY--Students will be doing the "Practical Lab Test" part of the Final.  Again, your student will have the entire period to work on this and it will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD.  The HOMEWORK is STUDY FOR WEDNESDAY'S WRITTEN TEST.

WEDNESDAY--LATE START--WRITTEN TEST ON THE MICROSCOPE UNIT (this is worth 100 points), SO NO HOMEWORK.

THURSDAY--MICROSCOPE WORD SEARCH IS DUE.  Students will take a "Pre-Test" for the first part of our next unit:  "Astronomy".  Students will also turn in their "Chemical Building Blocks" textbooks and will fill out the "Book Damage Sheet" for their new "Astronomy" unit textbooks.  These are DUE FRIDAY.

FRIDAY--Students will watch and take notes on a video of our solar system.  The worksheet will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD, so NO HOMEWORK.

I changed an assignment and its due date from last week:  the MICROSCOPE WORD SEARCH WORKSHEET WILL BE DUE THIS THURSDAY.  Sorry if this caused any confusion.

Just in case you weren't aware, Thursday, April 21st is our EVENING OF EXCELLENCE.  If you have received an invitation, your student will be honored.  The celebration will be held IN THE TMS GYM STARTING AT 6:00 P.M.  Please make every effort to make this wonderful event--our students have worked hard, and it is sure a pleasure to recognize their accomplishments.  If you are not sure if your student will be recognized, please call the Office (360-264-3600) or email or call me and I will make every effort to find out.  Hopefully, I will see you there.

As mentioned above, Wednesday is a LATE START DAY, so hopefully you have planned accordingly.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.  The best email address is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us or the phone number in my classroom is (360) 264-3644.

Have a wonderful week,
Michele Humble
