6th Grade Science Plans for April 11th through 15th, 2016

Greetings!

No, I did not fall off the face of the Earth, but I came mighty close.  Hope you enjoyed the Spring Break, and that your student has his/her batteries all recharged and is ready to plunge on into the remaining trimester.  Also, I hope you enjoyed the "Student Led Conferences" as much as I did--they were terrific this year.  Now on to this week's plans--

MONDAY--Students will review what they have learned in the Microscope Unit so far, so NO HOMEWORK.

TUESDAY--Students will begin Microscope Lesson #9, so NO HOMEWORK.

WEDNESDAY--Students will complete Microscope Lesson #9 and will begin working on the Review Word Search.  Microscope Lesson #9 will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD.  The Microscope Word Search will be DUE MONDAY.

THURSDAY--Students will begin Microscope Lesson #10, so NO HOMEWORK.

FRIDAY--Students will complete Microscope Lesson #10 and it will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD. Then they will work on the Microscope Word Search which is DUE MONDAY.

Next week we will complete the Microscope Unit.  This will entail THREE SEPARATE EXAMS.  One is a WRITTEN TEST (NEXT THURSDAY), while the other two are "practical lab tests" that your student will complete in class (Monday and Tuesday). We will review in class for the written test on Wednesday, but your student may want to get a "head start" by STUDYING OVER THE WEEKEND.  The best material to study are the class handouts.  Your student should be in possession of eight of these (Lessons 1-8) because I have already returned them to your student IF THEY WERE TURNED IN.  The remaining two will be handed back to your student on Monday.  Hope this long-term information helps.  These exams are NOT very hard, IF YOUR STUDENT STUDIES.

I'm hoping the grades this last trimester will be your student's best of the year.  Because I have no commitments for the rest of the year (No volleyball, no Outdoor School, no Knowledge Bowl), I will be free after school most days.  So if your student needs to stay after to make up a lab, retake a test, or needs help with a homework assignment, we can make that happen.  I only ask for 24 hours notice--just in case I have some other commitment.

Please contact me if you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns.  The best email address is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us and the phone number in my classroom is (360) 264-3644.

Have a wonderful week,
Michele Humble
