6th Grade Science Plans for February 27th through March 2nd, 2018

Greetings!

Well, let's hope for a "normal" week of attendance--and no slippery roads!  Here's what we are doing this week:

MONDAY--Students will receive their "Lesson #2 Quiz" back and we will go over it in class, so NO HOMEWORK.

TUESDAY--Students will review of the "Cell Organelles and Their Functions" test.  This TEST WILL BE ON FRIDAY, March 2nd, so your student should begin STUDYING NOW.

WEDNESDAY--LATE START DAY--Students will take a PRACTICE TEST.  Students should CONTINUE STUDYING FOR FRIDAY'S TEST.

THURSDAY--Students will continue to review for the "Cell Organelles and Their Functions" TEST.  Please CONTINUE TO STUDY FOR FRIDAY'S TEST.

FRIDAY--Students will take the "Cell Organelles and Their Functions TEST".  This test is WORTH 100 POINTS.  It will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD.  NO HOMEWORK.

Just a reminder that this Wednesday, February 28th is a LATE START DAY.  Hopefully you have made prior arrangements for this.

As you can tell from above, the Cells Test on Friday is a big deal.  Please help your student study for it this week.  Students did not do very well on the Lesson #2 Quiz.  I am allowing students to RETAKE THIS QUIZ.  They must do this on their own time (before school, after school, during lunch, or at Saturday School) and the DEADLINE TO RETAKE THE QUIZ IS MONDAY, MARCH 5TH.  We reviewed the contents of the quiz in class this past Monday, so improving on the quiz should be easy.  After looking at your student's score, please encourage him/her to retake it if he/she did poorly.

We have only had six assignments so far this term, and many students are missing three of them.  There IS Saturday School this weekend (Saturday, March 3rd from 8:00 a.m. to noon in the library here at the middle school), so if you are unsatisfied with your student's present grade, you may want to call the Office (360-264-3600) and arrange for your child to attend.  I will be making some contacts (phone calls or emails) to see if a failing student can be at Saturday School this week.

If you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns, please contact me.  The phone number in my classroom is 360-264-3644 and the best email address to reach me at is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us

Have a wonderful week,
Michele Humble
