7th Grade Science Plans for January 22nd through 26th, 2018

Greetings!

Well, the end of the first semester is upon us, and the grade you see is pretty close to "set in stone".  This is what we will be doing this week"

MONDAY--Students will work on Investigation 1.6.  This is HOMEWORK DUE TUESDAY.

TUESDAY--This will be a "Study Hall/Catch Up" Day.  No homework.

WEDNESDAY--LATE START DAY--Students will participate in our "End of the Quarter Auction", so NO HOMEWORK.

THURSDAY--Students will do their weekly "Coleus Observations" and will work on their "Wisconsin Fast Plants", so NO HOMEWORK.

FRIDAY--NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS--TEACHER WORK DAY

I'm sure you noticed above that Wednesday is a LATE START DAY, and have planned accordingly.  Also, we teachers will be here at school on Friday working on report cards, but your student will not be attending school--lucky them!  A three day weekend!

I am more than a little disappointed in the grades some of the seventh graders are receiving.  It is largely due to missing assignments.  Please check Skyward often, and look closely at these progress reports when you receive them.  As soon as you notice your student's grade starting to slip, please hold him/her accountable.  That might mean missing some activity, losing electronic/cell phone privileges, attending Saturday School, staying after school, etc.  It is very important that your student take his/her studies seriously--after all, at this stage school should be considered their "job", and some of them are not being responsible.  I only say this because I care deeply about your child and want him/her to be successful in life.  Thank you for your support in this matter.

Please contact me with any questions, comments, and/or concerns you may have.  The phone number in my classroom is (360) 264-3644 and the best email address to reach me at is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us

Have a wonderful week,
Michele Humble
