Art Plans for April 27th through May 1st, 2015

Greetings!

"Smarter Balance" (SBAC) testing has arrived, and here's some information for you.  First of all, testing days will take up 1st through 4th periods each day; this week students will be tested on English/Language Arts.  Here's the schedule:

6th grade--Monday & Thursday
7th grade--Tuesday & Friday
8th grade--Wednesday

Now on to class plans for this week:

MONDAY & TUESDAY--Students will work on the Symmetrical, Asymmetrical, and Radial Balance assignments.  These are ALL DUE ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY--Students will practice working with sponges & tempera paint.  NO HOMEWORK.

THURSDAY--Students will work with the sponges & tempera paint on repetition.  This assignment will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD.

FRIDAY--Students will again work with the sponges & tempera paint this time on "Emphasis".  Again this assignment will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD, so NO HOMEWORK.

Just a reminder--If a student turns out for middle school fall sports, and received one F on his/her report card, he/she will be INELIGIBLE FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF SCHOOL (TWO OR MORE F'S RESULT IN INELIGIBILITY FOR THE FIRST THREE WEEKS OF SCHOOL).  Since all of the fall sports start practice before school starts, this usually means your student will miss his/her first contest of the season.  Since you will be forking out money for a physical, ASB card, sports fee, pictures, t-shirts, etc., it will be frustrating for you, your student, and the coach (I coach volleyball).  So please look your student's grades over carefully, and if he/she is not passing all subjects, you may want to exert some parental pressure to get those grades up before the end of the year.

As always, please contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have.  The best email address to reach me at is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us and the phone number in the classroom is (360) 264-3644.

Have a wonderful week,
Michele Humble
