Greetings!
Hooray! I have finally completed grading the Science Notebooks! Hopefully your student did a fine job on his/hers, and the Science grade has gone up. I am ALMOST caught up grading everything--I still have the Poster/Rap/Story microscope lesson to go. That should happen early this week.
Speaking of this week, here are the plans:
MONDAY--Students will get back three microscope lessons (#4 through #6) and we will go over these in class, so there will be no homework.
TUESDAY--We will do Microscope Lesson #7 on how to prepare a dry mount. That should be completed in class and will be due at the end of the period.
WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY--We will learn how to prepare a wet mount. This is more complicated, so this lab will take two days. Again, no homework, but the work will be due at the end of the period on Thursday.
FRIDAY--We will watch a video on life in pond water. This is in preparation for next week's microscope work, so no homework.
Please take a good close look at your student's grade. There are only three weeks left in this quarter, so the time for changing his/her grade is rapidly diminishing. I will be available after school Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week, so if you need to make arrangements for your student to stay, just let me know.
