7th Grade Science Plans for December 12th through 16th, 2016

Greetings!

Sorry this is a tad bit later than I like to send these out, but you know how your time can slip away during the holidays!  Here are this week's plans:

MONDAY--Students will go over last week's test and assignment as well as elect their new class officers, so NO HOMEWORK.

TUESDAY--Students will watch a video on the Earth's Crust, and do a worksheet on it.  This will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD, so NO HOMEWORK.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY--Students will work on a "Pangaea Puzzle".  This assignment will be DUE FRIDAY.

FRIDAY--Students will take a little "Scientific Break" watching an episode of "Mythbusters".  NO HOMEWORK.

I'm sure you received the following email:

This afternoon we became aware of a threat to our middle school campus. Law enforcement is investigating and in our consultation with them it was determined that the threat is benign. Regardless, as our school safety is a priority, we will have additional supervision and law enforcement on campus for the remainder of this week to ensure everyone’s safety.  As a precaution we ask that student backpacks not be brought to school for the remainder of this week unless absolutely necessary.  The District will follow up with additional information as it becomes available.  Thank you.

As it stated, we feel the threat is benign, however we want to err on the side of caution.  The safety of your student is our highest concern.  I know this will be an inconvenience, but at least it's only three days, so please be patient.  Chromebooks will probably be the biggest hassle, so I won't plan on using them in my classes for the next three days, how's that?

Enjoy the Winter Break, and please remember that we resume school MONDAY, JANUARY 2ND.  That is different from the other school districts around us, so I just want you to be prepared.

As always, please contact me with any questions, comments, and/or concerns.  The best phone number is the one in my classroom (360-264-3644) and the best email address is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us

Have a festive holiday season,
Michele Humble
