6th Grade Science Plans for September 24-28, 2018

Greetings!

Hope you had a terrific weekend and are now ready for another great week at TMS.  Here is what we will be doing this week:

MONDAY--Students will be filling out a pre assessment called "Doing Science".  It will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD, so NO HOMEWORK.

TUESDAY--Students will work on two activities:  "Observations" and "Stereotypes".  This will be DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD, so again, NO HOMEWORK.

WEDNESDAY--Students will watch a video about Cispus, so NO HOMEWORK.

THURSDAY--Students will receive direct instruction on different lab techniques, so NO HOMEWORK.

FRIDAY--Students will begin the "Measurement Lab".  NO HOMEWORK.

Wednesday we are kicking off a new program called "Rachel's Challenge".  There will be a community event TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th at 6:30 p.m. in the TMS gym.  Hope you will be able to attend--it should be very informative.

As we draw closer to Outdoor School/Cispus (Tuesday, October 16th through Friday, October 19th) we find ourselves looking for a large trailer to haul up all of the gear.  If you know of anyone who would be willing to loan us one, or if you own one yourself and would let us borrow it for that week, please contact us as soon a possible.  It's just another one of those items we would be able to cross off our "To Do" list.  Thanks.

Several parents/guardians have asked about extra credit.  If you could please look at Slide #15 I sent in the "Sixth Grade Science" slide show, it will give you some ideas.  I'm kind of swamped right now, so it would be very helpful and would save both of us some time if you could take a peek at it.  Thank you.

If you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns, please contact me.  The telephone number in my classroom is (360) 264-3644 and the best email address to reach me is humblem@tenino.k12.wa.us

Have a wonderful week,
Michele Humble
